Antiques experts David Barby and David Harper were filmed with Halls’ senior auctioneer and valuer Andrew Beeston, who sold, in auction of general household items, various items they had collected on their travels.
The series pairs some of Britain’s best loved antiques experts and sends them on a nail-biting road trip across the UK. They buy antiques along the way and sell them at auction, hoping to make a profit in the process.
Winner of the contest is the expert with the most profit at the end of a week of antique hunting and selling.
“Filming all went smoothly enough but readers will have to wait until the programme is broadcast in the autumn to find out how the two Davids got on at auction,†said Mr Beeston.
“Most of their items were decorative pieces, including a miniature longcase clock, part of a propeller blade, a Japanese incense burner and a Parker pen.â€
The 45-minute programmes are made for BBC by STV.
