The day is a thank you to families of personnel for supporting them during a very busy year. As part of the celebrations an air display will be held at the unit from 1200.
The aircraft displays begin at 1312 after a Falconry display with a display by the Blades Aerobatic team. A RN Swordfish will display from 1330 followed by a King Air display. After a break for the Whitchurch Dog Display Team a USAF C130 will be providing a fly past followed by displays by the RAF Falcon Parachute display team, RN Lynx and an RAF Chinook display.
At 1523 another US fly past is due in the form of an F15 before departures by the Merlin, Sea King and Blades. A Spitfire of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will display from 1535 followed by more departures (Tucano, Tutor and King Air) and a Griffin role demonstration by 60 (R) Squadron.

The finale will be a display by the RAF Aerobatic Team, the Red Arrows from 1630. The Reds will depart from the display. All timings are provisional and may change due to weather or unserviceability.
Squadron Leader Neil Hope said, ‘the day is a closed event and is not open to the general public; however, there are many places around the Station perimeter where the aircraft can be seen from. RAF Shawbury requests that people take care where they park and walk if they are viewing the aircraft. The A53 tends to become very busy but must be kept clear. Please do not park on farmers fields or walk across crops.’
