The one mile circuit around the town is suitable for the whole family and will start and finish at the Assembly Rooms. The route will be along wide, well lit pavements and offers the perfect opportunity to rediscover the town in the midnight hour.

Sarah Hawthorne, fundraising events organiser for Severn Hospice, said: ‘We are delighted to be able to offer the people of South Shropshire a great opportunity to support their local Hospice whilst having a fun night out.

‘Every year we organise a number of events like the Moonlit Mile to help fund the vital work carried out by the Hospice across Shropshire and Mid Wales. Last year over 100 new patients were referred to the Hospice from Ludlow and the surrounding area. This figure is on top of the existing patients who we are currently caring for either in their own home or in one of our Hospices.

‘People of all ages are welcome to join us for the Moonlit Mile; we just ask that anyone under the age of 16 is accompanied by an adult. It costs just £5 for adults and £2.50 for children to register for the walk. We do ask that you raise as much sponsor money as you can, we appreciate that it is becoming increasingly difficult to raise money but every penny raised will benefit local patients and their loved ones.
