Inspector Derek Holland of West Mercia Police said: “This is extremely out of character of Mr Holmes and we and his family are concerned for his welfare.

“Mr Holmes suffers with depression and is upset by the recent passing of a friend and some ongoing problems at work.

“I would urge anyone who has seen him or knows where he is to contact us as soon as possible.

“I would also appeal to Mr Holmes to pick up a phone and let either his family or us know he is safe and well.”

Mr Holmes is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall with a clear complexion and a shaven head. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and black trainers.

Anyone with information should call police on 0300 333 3000.
