Telford teenager suffers fractured jaw following alleged assault

The 16 year-old girl was taken to the Princess Royal Hospital following the incident outside Pussycats in Wellington at around 2.15am on Saturday.

The teenager suffered a double fracture to her jaw and has undergone surgery.

A 17 year-old female was later arrested on suspicion of assault. She was taken to Malinsgate Police Station for questioning. She has since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Police are investigating the matter and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: “Police received a call to an alleged assault outside Pussycats nightclub in the early hours of Saturday.

“When we arrived the victim was surrounded by a number of people. We spoke to a number of individuals but would ask anyone who saw anything and didn’t speak to us on the night, to come forward.

“The victim, who had been attending an under 18’s disco, suffered nasty injuries and has had to undergo surgery.”
