A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews found a three year old boy who had been injured after reportedly colliding with a van.
“The boy sustained a significant head injury and suspected internal injuries. Crews and the doctor immediately commenced emergency treatment on scene. Due to the serious nature of the boys’ injuries the doctor anaesthetised him to help stabilise his condition before he was airlifted to Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
“The doctor travelled in the helicopter with the boy to continue vital treatment and assessment on route. Medics at Birmingham Children’s Hospital were pre alerted to the boys’ arrival and his serious condition.
“No one else was injured in the incident.â€
