Bus damaged after being hit by air gun pellets in Telford

0

The Arriva bus was travelling along Wrekin Drive when the incident happened at around 11.30am on Monday.

As the bus travelled along the road, it stopped opposite the parade of shops and collected a passenger. As the bus moved to the end of the road at the junction with Trench Road, it is believed pellets were fired from an air weapon at the nearside bus windows. Two of the windows shattered.

Police are investigating the incident and are eager to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious.

A Telford Police spokeswoman said: “Fortunately the bus was fitted with safety glass so the windows remained intact.

“No injuries were suffered by any of the passengers.

“The incident happened in the vicinity of the shops so the area would have been quite busy. If you saw anything suspicious or have any information that could help Police with their enquiries, then please come forward.”

Anyone with information about the incident should contact Telford Police on 0300 333 300 or the anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555111.
