Nicholas Saunders, 18, was found hanging in his cell at the young offenders prison near Market Drayton by staff at 13.30 on Saturday.

Prison officers attempted resuscitation along with paramedics but he was pronounced dead just over an hour later.

The Prisons and Probation Ombudsman are investigating.
