The victim, who was with two other male friends, was walking along Church Street when the group was approached by a group of Asian males.
An incident of disorder broke out and the victim and his two friends suffered injuries. The two friends suffered blows to the face and the victim suffered blows to the back of his head.
The injured friends ran away and the victim realised his head was bleeding. He suffered a two inch laceration to his head and facial injuries as a result of the incident. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the incident and are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.
A Telford Police spokeswoman said: “The victim and his friends had been to Midnight night club and had been involved in a verbal altercation with another group. Police are eager to trace members of the other group or any witnesses.
“After they left the club they walked along Church Street, where the assault took place. The main victim suffered blows to the back of his head, which caused him to fall to the ground. He then suffered another blow. The group ran away and sought help.
“Medics have told us that the injury to the back of the victim’s head was caused by a sharp instrument, possibly a knife or a glass bottle.
“We are eager to speak to anyone who has information in relation to the incident.â€
