Baschurch Residents Win BT’s Super Fast Broadband Competiton

Launched on October 1st last year, BT’s Race to Infinity competition offered six winning communities BT’s super-fast Infinity Broadband service, with speeds up to 40Mbps, by early 2012 at the latest.

Across the UK local residents and businesses voted in their thousands to help their local telephone exchange win the fibre optic broadband top prize.

The BT Race to Infinity competition closed on December 31st 2010 with the winners being revealed this morning.

The following exchanges won The Race to Infinity and will be next to get BT Infinity, the superfast broadband from BT.
– Baschurch, Shropshire
– Blewbury, Oxfordshire
– Caxton, Cambridgeshire
– Innerleithen, Scottish Borders
– Madingley, Cambridgeshire
– Whitchurch, Hampshire

Homes in Weston Lullingfields and Ruyton-XI-Towns will also benefit from the upgrade following the Baschurch win.

BT plans to roll out its super-fast BT Infinity Broadband service to two thirds of the UK by 2015, with 4 million premises having access by the end of this year.
