The 18-year-old was arrested this morning at an address in Shrewsbury.
He was interviewed and then charged with arson at a house in Reedham Road, on the Herongate Estate, Shrewsbury. At around 11pm on Wednesday 1st December a coat was reportedly set alight outside the property, causing over £100 worth of damage to the door. It was quickly dealt with by the fire service and nobody was injured.
He will be remanded in custody overnight and is due to appear before Shrewsbury Magistrates’ Court tomorrow, Christmas Eve.
There have been a series of suspected arson attacks on the estate over the past weeks, into which the police investigation is ongoing.
