The snow is expected to cause widespread travel problems after falling on already icy roads and footpaths.
Around 5cm of snow fell across the county overnight, with more forecast to fall later today and over the weekend.
The Safer Roads Partnership is urging drivers to take extra care and follow their advice about driving on icy and snowy roads
