Currys Telford at Colliers Park: Making a difference in the community

Currys Telford at Colliers Park has refreshed their store and expanded its range, while continuing to make a real difference in the local community. From fundraising to heartfelt moments, the team is proud to go beyond retail.

The team at Currys at Telford, Colliers Park, hosted a Mad Hatter’s–themed afternoon tea in aid of Macmillan.

The Currys store at Telford Colliers Park has recently undergone a fantastic refit, expanding its range of kitchen appliances, washing machines, refrigeration units and floor care products. The upgrade now showcases a wider selection, giving customers more choice than ever.

But it’s not just about products. According to General Manager Harpreet Bansal, the focus is on creating a better shopping experience while building strong connections with the local community. “We’re winning the hearts and minds of our locals,” she says.

Community Initiatives

The store has been actively involved in a number of community initiatives, raising over £2,000 for Disk’s Charity with the support of Katrina Kreates, a dedicated manager who truly leads with her heart. The team has also hosted fundraisers for Macmillan, organised a car wash in partnership with local garage EAC, and treated the residents of Lakemore Care Home to a special pampering session. This included nail treatments and a Mad Hatter’s–themed afternoon tea, alongside many other activities, with more events already planned.

Washing Machine Joy!

One particularly heart-warming story involves a seven-year-old boy who visits the store regularly, as washing machines bring him as much joy as a gaming console would to a gamer. David, one of the team’s dedicated colleagues, learned about the boy’s story and, on behalf of the team, gifted him a mini toy washing machine for Christmas.

The support didn’t stop there. With the help of David Rowntree and the team at Hisense, a brand-new Hisense washing machine (model WF7S1247BB) was donated to Nurturing Haven – a Shropshire based care company dedicated to creating a nurturing, family-like environment for children and young people aged 11 to 16 with learning disabilities or complex needs. What began as a simple act of kindness has since grown into a meaningful and lasting connection.

At Currys Telford, it’s about more than just tech—it’s about making a real difference. They aim to connect with the community and create a true sense of belonging.

“Next time you visit, you’re not just purchasing an appliance from us — you’re helping us forge strong, lasting bonds with our local community!” added Harpreet Bansal.
