In the heart of Shropshire, a fresh cohort of talented individuals is embarking on a life-changing journey. From the vibrant classrooms of The Priory School to secondary settings across the region, 3-18 Inspiring Futures is proud to introduce the teachers of tomorrow.

This academic year, 3-18 Inspiring Futures welcomed 10 dedicated Associate Teachers into its prestigious Initial Teacher Training (ITT) programme. Specialising in a diverse range of subjects—including Maths, English, Geography, History, Art & Design, Science, and Languages – these trainees are already making their mark on the local educational landscape.
A Foundation of Excellence
The programme is spearheaded by The Priory School in Shrewsbury, a Lead School renowned for its academic excellence. At the core of the 3-18 Inspiring Futures ethos is a simple but powerful goal: to ensure every single lesson is dynamic, exciting, and capable of capturing a young person’s imagination.
From day one, these Associate Teachers have been immersed in a curriculum that perfectly bridges the gap between educational theory and real-world classroom application. By balancing University-led modules with hands-on experience, they are developing a sophisticated understanding of:
Pedagogy & Curriculum Design: Understanding how students learn and how to structure knowledge.
Inclusive Practice: Ensuring every child, regardless of background, can succeed.
Behaviour Management: Creating a positive, focused environment for study.
Evidence-Based Research: Implementing the very latest teaching methods proven to work.
The Journey to QTS
As the cohort moves into their second placements, the challenge and the reward increase. They are currently deepening their expertise in adaptive teaching and the art of questioning, learning how to tailor their approach to support every pupil’s individual needs.
By the Summer Term, their confidence and skills will have grown to the point where they are teaching 17 lessons per week.
This culminates in a final assessment against the eight Teachers’ Standards, leading to the prestigious recommendation for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
