Traditionally pom poms belong in the hands of cheerleaders as they support a team with a song, dance and some pom pom shaking.

But pom poms have found a new home in venues across the country, decorating aisles, doorways and ceilings as part of the latest craze in wedding decoration.

Staff at The Wroxeter, near Shrewsbury, got to see what all the fuss was about when the hotel was decorated in pom poms.

Darryl-Ann Brooks, of The Wroxeter, said she could see exactly why brides and grooms liked the idea of pom poms as soon as they were up.

“They look really great and can come in any colour the couple chooses,” she said. “They also bring in a sense of fun and smiles and that’s what weddings are all about.”

The pom pom decorations are included in the new Sensational Spring wedding package which will be launched at The Wroxeter this week when the venue will be dressed up in wedding style.

The open evening will be held on November 6 from 4pm to 8pm and all are welcome to go along.
