Joanne, 44, believes the timing for the romantic comedy, Cupid’s Way, is spot on: “It’s the perfect antidote to endless football and macho bonding,” she said. “And who doesn’t love a good romance?”

Joanne, who lives in Whixall, became an ‘indie’ author in 2012 and says her readership is building rapidly, with readers all over the world. “Only yesterday I got an email from a lady in Philadelphia who had just finished one of my books. That was fantastic.”

Local fiction lovers have a special reason to feel involved, as Joanne explains: “My last novel was set in Shrewsbury, and really captured the imaginations of local readers.” A follow up to Joanne’s Shropshire-based Flora Lively mysteries is due for release later this year.

Everyone who comes along to see Joanne at the book signing event on Saturday will be entered into a free competition to win exclusive Cupid’s Way memorabilia.

The book tells the story of a cute Victorian street under threat from developers, and is also available in ebook format for Kindle and Kobo.
