Excitement builds for ladies’ Midnight Walk in Shrewsbury

Hundreds of fun-loving ladies from across the region have already signed up for the event.

Organisers are urging all those who have not yet registered to do so quickly to avoid disappointment as the June 15 deadline for entries fast approaches.

The 10km circular route follows well-lit pavements starting from Shrewsbury Sports Village.

Sarah Hawthorne, fundraising events organiser for Severn Hospice, said: “The whole office is in the grip of midnight fever as the second of our two walks will soon be here.

“This is such a brilliant night and it would be a shame for anyone to miss out. We often get teams of women who work together and fancy a fun night out walking alongside others who have encouraged their friends and family to get involved.

“Our Midnight Walks are amazing events with a truly unique atmosphere not to be missed. There will be glitter tattoos, music, a special zumba warm up and the chance to share thoughts and experiences through our memory wall.

“Every year thousands of local women benefit from the work of Severn Hospice, either directly or because of care given to someone they love. The Midnight Walk gives women of all ages the opportunity to enjoy a night of fun while giving something back to an important local charity.”

Registration for the Midnight Walk costs £15 which includes a special commemorative t-shirt to wear on the night.

Severn Hospice’s first Midnight Walk of 2012 took place in Telford on May 26 and raised nearly £32,000.
