The youngsters, who have been working with Appletree theatre & film company, performed to packed audiences despite the wind and rain.

They acted short stories from the history of the Town Hall, having interpreted information and research provided by Bishop’s Castle Heritage Resource Centre.

Appletree’s director Carl Walker said “The students were fantastic and should be very proud of themselves. The history of the town and the Town Hall is rich and varied and they enjoyed creating drama from the facts. By making the performances promenade, the audience followed the action inside and outside the Town Hall.”

Sam Hine, Project Manager for the Town Hall Renovation project said, “The youngsters from the Community College were great and we are delighted with the outcome. We hope that as we progress with the Town Hall renovation scheme many more young people will get involved and we can do more activities of this kind to bring the fascinating history to life.”

Bishop’s Castle Town Hall is bidding for funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund for a major renovation scheme and is working with the community to raise interest and awareness in its history.
