Shropshire daredevils to jump together in national skydive

0

Applications close on 17th January, giving people time to prepare before the jump on Saturday 17 March 2012.

Eleven airfields are taking part across the UK, including Whitchurch airfield in Shropshire. Daredevils will freefall at over 120mph, from two miles high, attached to a professional instructor. All training is carried out on the day.

The Stroke Association’s Regional Fundraising Manager Sophie James, says: “This is an experience of a lifetime and a fantastic Christmas present for any adventurous friends or family members! No experience is necessary and if people raise over £395, they jump for free. The money goes towards preventing strokes and supporting local stroke survivors in adjusting to a life after stroke.”

A stroke is a brain attack which occurs because of a clot or a bleed in the brain, causing brain cells to die. One person has a stroke every five minutes in the UK.
