Direct from the USA, the million-selling soul singer Alexander O’Neal is coming to Oakengates Theatre @ The Place in September.

Presenting massive hits like Criticize, Saturday Love, Hearsay, If You Were Here Tonight, The Lovers and many more, Alexander’s performances are legendary.

Born in Mississippi, Alexander O’Neal had relocated to Minneapolis by the age of 20 to further his singing career. After joining a band called Flyte Time, later renamed The Time and becoming the backing band for pop legend Prince, O’Neal left to pursue a solo career.

He was responsible for selling out six straight dates at Wembley Arena with his live show where his on-stage antics on a bed with women plucked from the audience pre-empted scenes similar to those from Madonna’s Blonde Ambition tour a few years later.

With a repertoire including worldwide hits from his three gold albums and more, come and experience an unforgettable evening of style and sophistication with Alexander O’Neal and his all star band.

For those wishing to enhance the experience of the evening even further, meet and greet tickets to meet the man himself are also available.

Tickets for Alexander O’Neal went on sale today at a cost of £30 each for the show on Friday 16 September at 7.30pm, but don’t hang about as this one-off, intimate evening with a true soul legend is sure to be in huge demand.

Tickets can be booked online at www.theplacetelford.com by calling the box office on 01952 382382, or in person at the theatre or Southwater One in Telford Town Centre.

A number of meet and greet tickets are available at a cost of £69 each. A show ticket must also be purchased to take advantage of the meet and greet.
