A farm shop near Bridgnorth is holding a Funday on Easter Bank Holiday Monday and is inviting everyone to come along for a fun filled day.
The Easter Funday is set to take place at Apley Farm Shop, on the A442 between Telford & Bridgnorth on Monday 28 March between 10-4pm.
Lady Hamilton, the marketing manager at Apley Farm Shop explained “This is ideal for families with young children seeking an exciting & fun filled Easter weekend. Last year we held a May Fayre with May Pole dancing which was very popular, but we wanted to hold an Easter weekend instead as it is so early this year.“
The day will include lots of activities for children and adults and everyone is encouraged to dress up for the day.
Amy Holloway is Pigg’s Playbarn manager at Apley Farm Shop “There will be an Easter egg hunt, biscuit decorating, Easter bonnet parade, fancy dress competition, Easter egg piñata, egg on your face, egg & spoon races, egg painting competition & much more. Many of our regular customers are already preparing their fancy dress outfits & bonnets.”
The farm shop will also be stocked with plenty of items for entertaining this Easter, from lamb joints, Apley Walled Garden vegetables, wines, cheeses, chocolates & even Easter hampers.
Matt Jones, Head Chef in the Creamery Café has prepared a mouthwatering Easter weekend menu which naturally includes local spring lamb & oodles of chocolate!
Apley Farm Shop supervisor Lora Rogers mentioned their celebrations planned to mark their fifth anniversary since opening: “Just after Easter we will be offering free cupcakes to early bird customers on Thursday 31 March & Lord Hamilton will plant one tree for every year of trading”.
Lord Hamilton, Apley Estate owner, added “We’re also preparing for the First Apley Bake Off on bank holiday Monday 2 May, when my wife Harriet has invited 6 great Shropshire chefs who will give demonstrations & then lead masterclasses. The cake & tart competition is open to all & has some fabulous prizes, plus there will be a children’s cookery corner to give them hands-on experience too.”
The Easter Funday is free, though there may be charges for some activities.
