Local residents are invited to a day-long fiesta of strolling entertainers, puppets, story-telling, games, arts and crafts workshops and market stalls plus a wide variety of food and drink for all to enjoy.

Last year thousands of local people turned out to enjoy the event and this year is promising to be even better.

It will take place in Telford Town Park in and around the Arena as well as around the new Southwater lake area and new Southwater One Library building.

Family entertainers will include street theatre with the Granny Turismo duo, who are back by popular demand after a successful appearance at T-Party last year, and the Lovely Bugs, who will perform an interactive and aerial dance display on a 6m high rig and giant spider’s web. New for 2014, T-Party will also include a family funfair.

Councillor Liz Clare, Telford & Wrekin Council cabinet member for leisure services and culture, said: “We’re really delighted to be bringing T-Party back to Telford Town Park for a second year.

“Last year’s event showcased our amazing Park and showed what a great location it is for the borough.

“The Town Park has already been busy with families enjoying its new facilities this summer, including the high ropes and water play.

“T-Party is a great day out for all of the family and best of all – it’s free

“This year’s T-Party event will also take in the new Southwater lake area and Southwater One which will give local people a chance to see the new development.

“Telford Town Park will also host T-Live, which will return to the QEII Fields In Trust Arena for a second year at the end of August.”

The free family festival, T-Party, opens at 11am on Saturday 2 August for a day-long extravaganza until 4pm in both the Town Park QE11 Arena and the new Southwater area.

The 2014 T-Party will be sponsored by Ricoh and Greenhous Group.
