
The event will take place at Shropshire Wildlife Trust in Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury from 9.30am until 4pm.
The day will include a programme of speakers from environmental organisations in Shropshire, a variety a stalls showcasing green projects from across the county, refreshments and plenty of opportunity for attendees to talk and exchange ideas. It has been organised by Green Shropshire Xchange whose aim is to provide a forum for environmentally minded organisations in Shropshire.
Speakers will include Les Lumsden who will kick off the day with an engaging talk on sustainable transport, Jodie Griffith who will introduce the Incredible Edible Shrewsbury project, Jon Halle on renewable energy and Simon Ross on home energy. Other organisations such as Friends Of The Earth, Shropshire Wildlife Trust, Ludlow 21 and Shropshire Community Recycling Network will also be present and local Shrewsbury business, Alfie & Billys will provide refreshments on the day. Members of the Green Shropshire Xchange will attend and non-members will be warmly welcomed too.
Jenna Blair, Green Shropshire Xchange Coordinator says “The event is free and open to anyone who wants to find out more about green activity in Shropshire. There is so much positive work taking place in the county, we’re hoping to provide an opportunity for people to exchange ideas and showcase their efforts”.
