Many of the activities taking place are part of the Flex Card’s ‘Kids for £1’ promotion that runs until 21 April and include Go, Go, Go cheerleading, dance mat mania sessions, roller disco, mini tennis, badminton coaching and kids clubs.

Golf academies are taking place at Horsehay Village Golf Centre, suitable for young people, of all golfing abilities with coaching from resident golf professional Matt Lea. Each course lasts three days and includes intensive tuition, lunch and refreshments.
Slam Dunk Basketball Coaching with some of the top coaches from Shropshire Warriors Basketball Club, based in Telford, is taking place at leisure centres across the borough. Elsewhere, Telford Snowboard and Ski Center is holding ski schools for adults and children (over age 6) whilst snowboarding sessions are taking place for beginners up to advanced snowboarders (children must be 8+ years).
Residents are also making savings thanks to Telford & Wrekin Council’s local discount card, the Flex Card. This offers great value and discounts, including
25 and 40 per cent off admission charges to council leisure facilities and discounts at other local services. There are also loyalty rewards for regular customers and big savings on a range of local attractions and activities.
Angie Astley, Head of Leisure and Culture for Telford & Wrekin Council, said: “Our Easter programme is proving very popular thanks to the Flex Card’s ‘Kids for £1’ promotion and the range of activities taking place at council leisure centres.
“The Flex Card is a local discount card that offers a range of benefits at council leisure centres and a host of local businesses and attractions. It really is a local discount card that offers savings throughout the year and additional loyalty rewards.â€
“I’d like to thank Ricoh Ltd for supporting the ‘Kids for £1’ promotion which backs the council’ s active lifestyles campaign to encourage residents to do more, enjoy more and feel better.â€
To join in the ‘Kids for a £1’ promotion, people need to book in advance to avoid disappointment and should also bring their Flex Card. If you haven’t got one, residents can pick up a Flex Card form at their local leisure centre.
