Organisers today revealed four bands – Madison, Fight The Bear, Threepoint2 and DC Fontana – will be taking to the stage on Sunday August 28th 2011.

The bands are all new to the popular festival and promise to give some exciting performances for residents and visitors to the town over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

Telford band Madison promise a fresh take on classic rock with a modern twist‟ and will be showcasing original material with a few more recognisable covers.

Another Shropshire band Fight The Bear, originally formed in Bishop’s Castle, are influenced by Californian reggae-punks Sublime and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. The four man band will perform their own mix of ska and rock, with smatterings of reggae.

Threepoint2 are a relatively new band who promise to bring a fresh new sound to the Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival.

Last but not least, DC Fontana promises to get you dancing in the streets of Bridgnorth with a mix of musical tastes ranging from alternative, Northern Soul, to Prog Rock and Soul.

“We are delighted to have confirmed these four diverse bands for this year‟s Bridgnorth Music & Arts Festival. They are mostly local to the Shropshire and Telford area but new to the festival itself which means we can once again showcase some new musical styles and help our music fans indulge in a great day-long free outdoor gig!” he said.

“Not only do these exciting bands show we are committed to providing the best in free music to festival goers but also that local bands are placing more and more importance in taking part in this ever growing international event.”

Also already confirmed for various venues at this year‟s festival are popular local bands Shebangg, Clear Vinyl, Booyaka, and Swiss Army Hamster, along with musician William Nicholson and vocalist Janette Monroe.

The Quayside will also come alive with the sound of music on Monday 29th August 2011 with confirmed artists Presleep Monologue, Barrel O’Baddies, Illicit Disco and “Psychedelic Flobro & Dr Funkenstein. As well as an exciting programme of music, this year‟s festival is already awash with new ideas and activities, helping it to confirm its place on the Shropshire music and arts scene, and to put Bridgnorth on the map culturally.
