Tony Hawks says:

“I came across Flicks in the Sticks last year when I was touring with my film Round Ireland with a fridge, and I was taken aback not only by the scale of the flicks operation but by the dedication of the volunteer promoters who bring so much please to rural communities. I therefore wanted to lend my support to Flicks, and to help them, in any way I can, especially at this time of drastic cuts”

Ian Kerry, Director of Arts Alive and Flicks in the Sticks said “Tony Hawk’s film ‘Round Ireland with a Fridge’ was a popular choice with our promoters and it was fantastic that Tony came up to support us. It’s a real honour for us that he was so impressed with the scheme he has agreed to become a patron” Ian went on to say that “this is a difficult time for many organisations, I hope that having both Tony and Julie as a patrons will give us the opportunity to raise our profile not only with new audiences, but also with potential funders.”
