Evolution Productions is run by Telford-born Paul Hendy and his wife, Emily Wood. Paul is well known as a TV presenter, script-writer and comedy novelist whilst Emily comes from a theatrical dynasty, (her father is pantomime producer, Kevin Wood and her grandfather was the impresario, Jimmy Wood). Paul and Emily formed Evolution in 2005 and the company has gone from strength to strength ever since. The Daily Mail recently reported three of Evolution’s shows as being in the ‘Top Ten Pantomimes in the Country’.

Paul Hendy says “As a local lad, I am absolutely thrilled to be producing at such a prestigious theatre. Emily and I are very proud of our reputation for producing some of the best pantomimes in the country and I promise that “Aladdin” will be the biggest, best and funniest pantomime ever staged in Shrewsbury.”

Sales for this year’s Pantomime, Aladdin have already pointed to another record-breaking year as families from across the county and surrounding areas are choosing Theatre Severn as the destination of choice for their traditional family pantomime. This early take-up of tickets for Aladdin has meant Theatre Severn has had to extend the run by another 7 performances, to run till Sunday, 8th January 2012 in anticipation of demand.

Theatre Manager, Peter Nicholson says “We are thrilled to be having Evolution as our producers for Aladdin and are confident they will not only continue Theatre Severn’s success in presenting quality family pantomimes, but take us to the next level of quality and excellence, which we need to grow our audiences for the future. A record-breaking 31,000 people came to see Cinderella over the Christmas period and our ambitions are to break this record again and again.”

Aladdin will open on Thursday 1 December and run until Sunday 8 January. Tickets are on sale now and available from the Box Office at Theatre Severn (01743 281281) or online at www.theatresevern.co.uk, where you can view a full schedule and choose and book seats.
