Rossi and Parfitt are said to be looking forward to performing classic hits such as Rockin’ All Over The World, Whatever You Want and Down Down.
With their World-wide sales exceeding 118 million, 22 singles in the UK Top Ten, 43 years of performing since their first hit in 1968, the opening act of ‘Live Aid’ – it can only be The Quo!
One of the most iconic of all British rock bands will be live on stage at The Quarry in Shrewsbury performing some of their classic hits including Caroline, Rocking All Over The World and Down Down.
Organisers have also announced that 10cc will be guests artists on stage at The Quarry to support Status Quo. 10cc’s popularity peaked in the 70’s after a string of hits including I’m Not In Love, Donna, Rubber Bullets, Dreadlock Holiday and Things We Do For Love.
Status Quo were due to perform in earlier years but in 2009 it was claimed the band would not consider playing in Shrewsbury because of limits to noise levels in the town park, but it seems the disagreement has now been resolved.
Tickets to see the performance priced at £35 rising to £40 on July 15th, Children aged 5 – 15 will pay £15 rising to £20 on July 15th with Children 5 years and under gaining free entry.
The 80’s concert this year that was due to be held in The Quarry the following evening on July 16 has been cancelled. A message on the organisers website read: “It is with much regret that IML announces that we have taken the decision to cancel The 80’s Show 2011 due to circumstances beyond our control.
All ticket-holders will be offered a full refund at the point of purchase and we have asked each box office to contact them immediately.”
Previous artists to perform at The Quarry include: The Sugababes, Will Young, Beverley Knight, Jools Holland, Rick Astley, Tony Hadley Belinda Carlisle, Midge Ure, and Go West.
In June, Elton John is set to perform in Shropshire with a one off concert at Shrewsbury Town’s Greenhous Meadow Stadium.
