The classic fairytale saw Samantha Dorrance return to Shrewsbury in the lead role following her success as Wendy in Peter Pan last year. She was joined by a talented cast including comic Andy Pelos as Buttons, BBC Radio Shropshire’s Eric Smith and Michael Batchelor and Ian Smith as an unforgettable pair of Ugly Sisters, for a show packed with magic, music and comedy.

Theatre bosses have revealed that approximately 31,000 people attended the pantomime, comfortably surpassing last year’s Peter Pan and previous productions at the Music Hall. Extra performances of Cinderella were confirmed in the autumn to accommodate the increasing demand for tickets.
Theatre Manager Peter Nicholson, told us “Cinderella was a truly magical production and I am delighted that it was so well supported by the people of Shropshire and beyond. To achieve such fantastic attendance figures given the extreme weather conditions and the icy grip of a recession is quite amazing. Tickets have already gone sale for next year’s production of Aladdin and advance sales are astonishing.â€
Aladdin will open on Thursday 1 December and run until Monday 2 January. Tickets are on sale now and available from the Box Office at Theatre Severn (01743 281281) or online at www.theatresevern.co.uk, where you can view a full schedule and choose and book seats.
