Jasmine Lewis, age 6, from Bowbrook was invited backstage after her picture was chosen as a competition winner and selected as the front cover of the official show programme.

Last month, Theatre Severn challenged local youngsters to show off their best artistic talents to create bright and colourful pictures, using the story of Cinderella as the central theme. Featuring wonderful characters such as Prince Charming, the Ugly Sisters, and a Fairy Godmother, this magical tale offered plenty of inspiration.

The competition was suggested by local artist Pip Bayley, and he was asked to select the winner from more than 100 entries from children including pupils from Carreghofa CP School in Llanymynech, Powys and children from Year 3 at St. George’s Junior School in Shrewsbury.

Theatre Severn’s Craig Reeves told us, “The competition was great fun and congratulations to Jasmine. The programme looks fantastic and will be seen by more than 30,000 people during the run.”

Four runners-up each received a goody bag from the Toot Sweets Confectionary Emporium and a selection of the best entries are now on display in the foyer at Theatre Severn.

Cinderella is on at Theatre Severn until Monday 3rd January. Tickets can be booked in person at Theatre Severn, by telephone on 01743 281281 or online at www.theatresevern.co.uk.
