If Cinderella met Prince Charming at a disco in the late 1970s, where would they be now? This is the premise of Fairgame Theatre’s unusual, but highly inventive interpretation of the well-loved tale of rags to riches. Ella, as she’s called in the production, returns to a life of poverty when the socialist Prince “Charm†gives up his royal title and money to save the recession-hit tax payer.
The two former royals are now travelling village halls with a cart and an ancient karaoke machine attempting to scratch a living by telling their story. Throughout the evening, with the wisdom of hindsight, they tell their well-loved story through re-enactment, dance and the rocking 70′s hits that brought them together. The evening draws to a romantic end, reminding us all that you’re never too old for love.
The show can be seen at Welshampton Village Hall on Thursday 25th November. Only a few tickets are left for this performance so please book in advance on 01948 710586.
