Berwick Care, a local Shrewsbury business, have decided to spread a little happiness to care home residents across the county, by sending birthday cards out to those celebrating their special day in care.

Birthdays are a special time for everyone, however, celebrating your birthday in care can feel a little bit different. Residents in care homes are parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends to many. Often, family and friends may live far away or may have unfortunately passed.

Whilst birthday cards can seem like such a small gesture, the care and appreciation they show can have a massive impact on the receiver. Berwick Care wants these individuals to feel loved and cared for every day, but especially on their birthday. That’s why they are on a mission to spread birthday joy to as many residents as they possibly can.

Carl Brassey, the Managing Director at Berwick Care said: “The carers who look after my Granny repeatedly tell us how lucky she is to have so many family members that still visit her, and remind us how many individuals they see that are lonely; especially on their birthday. This is why this is so important to us at Berwick.”
