A panoramic shot of Broseley High Street has been presented to a local business as a thank you for his generous donation to an important local charity.

The photo which has been framed is now displayed in the front of their office.

The photograph was the work of the late Alan Welch whose widow Iris has gifted it to Patrick Smitheman, Managing Director of Harwood Shropshire Ltd.

“Mrs Welch had seen some historic local photos which I had recently shown in the press and felt that this particular photo produced by her late husband would be a fitting tribute to him if it was displayed in our estate agency office,” said Patrick.

Iris knew of his strong interest in local history and has donated the photo to Patrick on a long term loan.

“This has been done to raise money for Our Broseley Lights Fund – Patrick’s donation kick started things and we have raised a total of £160 which I will be presenting to the committee.

“Anyone wishing to contribute further or help in anyway with this wonderful organisation should please make contact with us,” Iris added.
