A local training provider has recently opened a new training centre on the Whitchurch High Street, providing residents with greater accessibility to its services.

County Training, relocated to its new Green End offices at the end of last year, where it is now providing a range of opportunities to customers who are looking for support in accessing Apprenticeships, employment and courses.

The centre, which was previously the Fox and Goose Inn, has been transformed into a purpose built facility with interview rooms and classrooms. Having spent 10 years at The Talbot Centre on the Whitchurch Business Park, the team of assessors, tutors and key workers have moved to 34 Green End where they continue to work with existing customers whilst welcoming new ones.

County Training, is part of Shropshire Council and has been delivering its services in Whitchurch for 35 years. Business Development and Performance Manager, Kevin Humphreys, says the move aims to enhance future prospects for individuals, commenting “Our new central location will provide much easier access for those living and travelling in to the town, whether it’s for an Apprenticeship interview, our Advance programme, a training course or even one to one support with maths and English qualifications.”

Deputy Portfolio holder for Education, Councillor Nick Bardsley adds “It’s great to see County Training operating from a more central location. It can often be challenging in the more rural areas of Shropshire for people to access such services, but with good transport links into the towns centre it creates new opportunities for a much broader range of customers. I wish County Training every success in its new venture.”

County Training has recently secured a grade 2 in its Ofsted inspection, with outstanding results in many areas. This leading provider for Shropshire is now looking to expand its services in Whitchurch, offering a range of apprenticeships and vocational qualification in areas including: Brewing, Business and Administration, Childcare, Education, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Customer Service, Hairdressing and Barbering, Health and Social Care, Equine, Hospitality and Catering, IT, Motor Vehicle, Management and Warehouse and Storage. In addition customers can access help with maths and English along with the Advance course to help 16-18 year olds move onto their future options.

If you are currently looking for an apprenticeship or are unemployed and looking to increase your skills through Vocational Qualifications County Training currently has six bases around the Shropshire area offering these opportunities.
