Shropshire and Mid Wales-based agricultural supplier and retailer Wynnstay Group Plc has announced the planned acquisition of a key farm supplies operation in the South West of the UK.
Agricentre supplies a wide range of agricultural inputs including animal healthcare, dairy hygiene and animal nutrition products as well as feed related equipment and other hardware through eight units across its region, including the Isle of Wight.
The acquisition of Agricentre is an important strategic move for Wynnstay, extending the Group’s trading presence into a major new geographic region.
Ken Greetham, CEO of Wynnstay, said: “Agricentre has been supplying farmers in the West Country with agricultural inputs for over 50 years and I am delighted that we have agreed terms to acquire the business.
“It is a strategically important move for us as it extends Wynnstay into a new trading area. We are looking forward to working with the existing management team to further develop the business and bring new products and services to the Agricentre customer base.”
Wynnstay has agreed terms with Agricentre’s owners TG Jeary Ltd for the acquisition of the business and trading assets and expects to take ownership by October 30th.
