A Shropshire hotelier has been nominated for a national award after transforming the venue and opening it up to all ages.

Hannah Hall, of The Wroxeter Hotel, based between Shrewsbury and Telford, took on the venue in 2007 and has instigated its growth into the successful hotel and conference venue it is today.

And she has now been nominated in the national Bizmums Awards. The awards were established in 2013 to recognise the hard work and achievement of mums in business across the country.

The 2015 ceremony will take place on Saturday October 17 at The Manor House in Alsager on the Cheshire/Staffordshire border.

The nomination for Mrs Hall details the work involved in opening The Wroxeter Hotel up to all ages – in 2014 a corporate training and conference package was launched and this year baby shower packages and children’s birthday party packages have been announced.

Mrs Hall said she was honoured to have been nominated.

She said: “One of the things I really wanted to do with The Wroxeter was to offer packages that suited people’s budget and that benefited local businesses by using them within the packages.

“It was a pleasure for me to provide this and I am really grateful to be nominated for the work I have done – I hope that I can continue to open up the hotel to more and more people.

“Our baby shower, along with christening and naming day, packages came about because a lot of our brides wanted to return to the venue where they were married when they were marking other events in their lives.

“And we began work on the birthday party packages after chatting to a mum who said she wanted her son to have a fantastic party but found the organisation meant she couldn’t really enjoy the experience herself.

“Meeting the needs of the hotel customers is always at the top of our agenda and it is really wonderful to know how much our efforts are appreciated.”

Michelle Childs, of Bizmums, said: “The Bizmums Awards were established to recognise the hard work and achievements of mums.

“At the ceremony on October 17 the winners of each of the 11 categories will be presented with their award and win a six-month membership to Bizmums.”
