Lesley Pascall, of Muxton, has taken on the role of recruitment and development associate for the cosmetic company.

She will expand the number of self-employed Independent Beauty Consultants who will run their own Mary Kay business, either holding parties, selling products to friends and family or building a team.

She said: “This can create an unlimited number of opportunities for people in Shropshire, there is not a ceiling to it really.

“Mary Kay has been in the UK for 20 years and has been established for over 50 years.

“It has mostly been down in the south of England but now it is the time to spread throughout the Midlands and Wales.

“There are more than three million Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultants around the world, I had no idea the scale of the company until I joined.

“I am looking forward to finding people passionate about beauty that want an additional income.”

The mother-of-three from Perivale Gardens was a former experienced top leader for another leading cosmetics company and began working at Mary Kay in October.

She added: “I have had a very positive response so far. There is something in it for everybody.

“I am looking to have team leaders in place who want to work their way up or people who want to supplement their income.

“Everyone who joins us will be supported and educated, we don’t just recruit people – just because you’re in business for yourself, it doesn’t mean you are by yourself.

“You can decide what motivates you and design the business around your lifestyle and needs.

“Direct selling means it is flexible for Consultants to take on as much or as little as they like.”

Debbie Dey, 49 of Bomere Heath, Shrewsbury, has become one of the first people to join the company and aims to build her own team of consultants.

She said: “I was looking for something that has good quality products, natural ingredients and good ethics.

“I’m a qualified beauty therapist so I prefer to use products on myself that I give to clients.

“I work in a salon part time so this fits around that and I sell to my clients too.

“I already have customers re-ordering their favorite stock from me, it is going really well so far.”
