Members of the local business community sign the Telford Pulling Together Charter.

The Charter has been created by the businesses that form Telford Pulling Together – a networking group run by Telford and Wrekin CVS (Council for Voluntary Service).

The group meets on a monthly basis at The Whitehouse Hotel in Wellington to discuss how they can work together towards fulfilling their Corporate Social Responsibility goals.

Businesses from across Telford can now sign the Charter which gives a commitment from local businesses to contribute to their local community.

Ella Sips, strategic development manager at Telford and Wrekin CVS, which is based at The Glebe Centre in Wellington, said: “The Charter is the result of many months of working together”.

“Telford Pulling Together was launched 12 months ago and attracts businesses from the likes of Cap Gemini, Denso and Fujitsu to smaller companies and sole traders including beauticians, cleaners and trainers – all of whom want to meet and increase their CSR achievements.

“The Charter means every member of TPT will be signing a document to show their dedication to helping the voluntary organisations in Telford which is fantastic for those charity and voluntary organisations across the borough that will benefit.

“The Charter shows the commitment the businesses want to make and also gives some recognition to the huge amount of work, time and effort they make to charity and voluntary organisations across Telford. So much of this often goes unnoticed but it should be recognised and we hope the Charter will be a small step towards achieving that.”

All businesses are welcome to join the monthly breakfast meeting and can register their interest by emailing loisbreen@tandwcvs.org.uk who will then send an invite.
