Jo Clifton, who runs Pure Beauty and Holistic Treatments Ltd has opened her first premises within Bournville House in Lightmoor.
The married mother-of-two has been running her business at her home in Lawley Village for the last 12 months but wanted to expand her premises after qualifying to train others in beauty and holistic therapy treatments.
Mrs Clifton, 33, said she hosted her first manicure and pedicure training course within days of getting the keys to her new premises.
She was also fully booked with beauty treatments during her first week.
“I cannot believe the demand and the number of enquiries I have had in my first week. I have promotional flyers still to be distributed, yet the phone hasn’t stopped which is fantastic.
“I have had a number of inquiries from the people living in the Extra Care accommodation which is lovely to be able to give them a bit of pampering right on their doorstep and also from people living across Lightmoor, Horsehay and Lawley – I have been overwhelmed by the support from everyone here in Bournville House and Lightmoor and am very grateful,” Mrs Clifton said.
“The training aspect is very much in demand and can be held on a Saturday so people who work full-time can further the beauty services they offer by completing an accredited course at the weekend without taking time off work.”
Mrs Clifton, who is a fully qualified and insured beauty and holistic therapist, said: “There is a real buzz in Bournville House with the fantastic bistro and hairdressers and once the retail units opposite are also occupied I think it will be a very exciting place to work and live.
“The school and nursery mean families are coming and going and my new beauty room means parents can tie in any beauty appointments with school runs or enjoy a girly day with lunch in the bistro followed by an afternoon of treatments.
“Men and women are often so busy they don’t take enough time out for themselves – but it’s amazing what a difference a 30-minute treatment can make. I’ve created a haven of peace and tranquility in the middle of a very busy, exciting place,” she added.
Mrs Clifton offers a full range of beauty and holistic treatments including CND Shellac nails, waxing, tinting, massages, facials, ear candling and reflexology.
