Rosalind Godfrey has joined the team at The International Centre, Telford, after working at other venues in the area managing functions and events.
She said: “I am looking forward to building on the strong reputation The International Centre already has, and am delighted to sell a venue which is not only well-located, but also delivers on so many event organiser requirements with its large, flexible, unbranded space.”
Alison Griffin, sales and marketing director for the Southwater Event Group, said: “Rosalind has joined our team at an extremely exciting time and we’re delighted to have her on board.
“We’ve seen a phenomenal increase in demand for our venue on the back of our latest programme of development, and her experience will be crucial in handling our busy diary and high enquiry levels.
“We have also seen a great deal of interest in the Southwater Convention Quarter which is currently under way and due for completion early next year.
“The multi-million pound development is right on our doorstep and will bring a whole host of restaurants and bars, as well as a multi-screen cinema, to help create a dynamic night-time economy in the area.
“The ambitious scheme has generated a real buzz with event organisers and has been extremely encouraging for forward bookings into 2014 and beyond.”
The Southwater development includes an 11-screen cinema to be operated by Cineworld, restaurants and bars including Zizzi, Nandos, Chimichanga, Wagamama, Harvester, Bella Italia, and Pizza Express, and a Premier Inn hotel.
