Henry Tudor House, situated just off Wyle Cop, is one of the oldest, most historic half-timbered buildings in the town and has been extensively restored over a six-month period by proprietors Graham and Clare Jenkins.

The couple have invested in a complete refurbishment project at the huge medieval building which is reputed to have got its name when Henry Tudor stayed at the site on his way to victory over Richard III at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485.

It is now a thriving bar and restaurant but also has a large second floor function room, with impressive vaulted ceiling, which is already booked for a range of corporate, as well as social, functions.

Proprietor Clare Jenkins commented: “The top floor, which can host between 30 and 100 people depending on the seating plan, is an ideal town centre location for business meetings and small conferences. It has a stage area, superb acoustics and excellent lighting.

“We also have a private dining room for up to 14 people which is perfect for smaller meetings and of course our restaurant and bar team are on hand to provide first class refreshments for businesses and organisations.”
