Reward offered over Shropshire cashpoint robbery

Two masked men escaped with a “substantial sum” of money after confronting security staff at Jay Services, Cosford Garage on the A41 in Albrighton at around 10.30pm on November 20.

Two security staff were threatened with “blades” and made to lie on the ground. They were shaken up but not injured. The exact amount of money stolen has not been disclosed.

Police inquiries have continued and a cashpoint cassette which held bank notes has been recovered by police alongside the M6 in Cheshire.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Edwards said: “The investigation into this robbery is very much ongoing and we are anxious to hear from anyone with information which might help.

“We are hoping the £5,000 reward will encourage people to come forward with information to help identify the offenders.

“I appeal to anyone who can help to contact Shrewsbury CID on 101 or 0300 333 3000.”

He said West Mercia Police were liaising with neighbouring forces as part of the investigation.
