The winter season at Oakengates Theatre @ The Place is always a magical time – made extra special by the annual pantomime.

This year’s extravaganza comes with a mystical Middle Eastern flavour in the form of Aladdin – and the theatre is offering girls and ladies the chance to audition for a dancing part.

The theatre is after trained junior dancers who are aged between seven and 12 that are not taller than five feet and also senior dancers aged 13 and over who are not under five feet tall.

Theatre manager Debbie King said:

“We are looking for dancers who are local to the theatre and able to commit to rehearsals and performances between November 30 and January 5.

“We particularly want to hear from people who attend regular dance lessons in ballet, tap and jazz and who follow a recognised examination syllabus, such as ISTD/RAD or IDTA.”
