Tigers take on Bracknell Bees at home on Saturday with face off at 5.30, before heading up to Sheffield to take on the Steeldogs on Sunday evening.
Looking at the two games, Watkins said, “Bracknell have had a good season, they have good import players, experienced Brits and have improved as a team. It should be a good game, our games with them this season have been entertaining and Saturday should be no different. Sunday we take on the Steeldogs in a game that is always a challenge, they play with a physicality and intensity that we have to deal with and earn the right to play our game.”
Moving ahead to next season, Watkins commented “We have started talking to guys one to one about improvements and what we are looking for from them next season, they have to take that chance to impress and be here again next season.”
Saturday’s game will see the Tigers offering free entry to children accompanying a full paying adult, who bring along a soft toy for the ‘Air the Bear’ game. When Tigers score their first goal, children who have brought along a soft toy throw it onto the ice to celebrate. These soft toys will be collected up and donated to the Children’s Ward at the Princess Royal Hospital in Telford.
Team Manager Paul Thomason said, “As a supporter’s trust run team, the local community is important to the team and we are delighted to be able to support the local hospital by donating these soft toys to the playroom, and look forward to going along next week and delivering them. Come along, support the guys on the ice and a good cause all at the same time.”
