Four men have been arrested after a woman was allegedly subjected to a serious sexual assault in Shrewsbury.
The incident reportedly happened on the Frankwell cricket field between about 10pm and 10.30pm on Saturday 18th July. The victim is alleged to have been approached by four men at the junction of Roushill and Raven Meadows.
The five of them are then reported to have walked down Roushill and over Frankwell footbridge, before crossing the car park and ending up at the cricket ground, where the assault allegedly took place. Afterwards, the men are reported to have run back across Frankwell Footbridge towards Smithfield Road.
Four men in their 20s were arrested in the Stone area in Staffordshire in connection with the alleged sexual assault in the early hours of Sunday. They have been interviewed and bailed pending further enquiries.
