Flooding continues to cause problems across Shropshire

In south Shropshire the A49 between Church Stretton and Craven Arms was closed for a time after being submerged by water. The road is currently closed southbound between the B4371 Sandford Avenue junction in Church Stretton and the B4368 Corvedale Road junction in Craven Arms. A local diversion is in operation.

In Shrewsbury, Frankwell car park is partially open today whilst Sydney Avenue and Gravel Hill Lane are both closed due to flooding .

Bromley Lane, between Bridgnorth and Sutton Maddock is closed due to a landslide.

In Bridgnorth, two footpaths from Doctor’s Lane to Severn Park and from Severn Side South to Wellmeadow are closed due to flooding

Trains have also been affected following line flooding between Shrewsbury and Ludlow.

– River Severn in Shropshire
– Severn Vyrnwy Confluence
– River Teme, River Onny and River Corve & their tributaries upstream of Ludlow
– River Teme and its tributaries downstream of Ludlow
