Providing a free Will writing service in return for voluntary donations towards St George’s campaign, Linder Myers will be waiving its normal fee for a basic Will in a bid to support the church and help to get repairs underway before further damage is caused.
Richard Ashton, trusts and estates and regional managing partner at Linder Myers in Shrewsbury commented: “We are always looking for opportunities to support the local community and this presented an ideal way for Linder Myers to contribute towards St George’s efforts to raise vital funds.
“Without the kind voluntary donations made by local people the church wouldn’t be able to fund the repairs which would be a real shame as it plays an important role in the local area. Having a Will in place not only provides peace of mind for the individual, but also for those left behind and can help protect valuable assets that would otherwise be subject to high taxes in the absence of a professionally written Will so our free basic Will writing promotion will serve to help support the local community in more ways than one.”
Commenting on the promotion Reverend Murray McBride said: “St George’s is very grateful to Richard Ashton and Linder Myers; we are a busy parish church where we care for our community’s celebrations and tragedies. This lovely Georgian church is the perfect place to gather for family weddings, baptisms and funerals. So it was quite a blow when we were advised by our architect that our tower and roof needed urgent repair.
“However, it has been a wonderful discovery that while working hard to fund the repairs we have been overwhelmed by how much support there is from our neighbours, groups and businesses who want to help St George’s. We are all very grateful to Richard for generously giving his professional skills to support our restoration appeal, and as a vicar who is regularly supporting bereaved families I am so pleased to be helping people organise their Wills.
“Richard has been brilliant with people of all ages and they have all remarked how approachable and understanding he is. The whole project has been a great success for the restoration and giving peace of mind to lots of people for the future.”
