Aaron O’Connor’s strike and a Dan Preston own-goal canceled out Kieron St Aimie’s opener, while the latter received his marching orders shortly after the restart.
Ismail Yakubu then extended the visitors’ lead before the Bucks suffered another red card, this time Preston picking up a second booking, while Andy Sandell fired home number four before then putting the ball past his own goalkeeper.
The result leaves County one point clear of second-placed Forest Green Rovers after 11 league matches, while United are in 13th with 14 points.
The hosts started the stronger of the two sides, although chances were few and far between, but after 27 minutes they finally found a way through as St Aimie held off a challenge before rifling his shot into the top corner of the goal.
Just before the break Justin Edinburgh’s men drew level, Danny Crow’s pass picking out O’Connor, who rounded the goalkeeper before slotting his effort home.
Four minutes after the restart the visitors were gifted the lead, Jordan Rose and Dan Preston failing to communicate as a loose ball eventually found its way over the goal-line.
A few moments later and Andy Sinton saw his side reduced to 10 men, St Aimie seeing a straight red card for a rash challenge on Crow.
The visitors soon found themselves 3-1 up as Yakubu directed home Jake Thomson’s free-kick, while Sandell unleashed a stinging long-range drive to secure their fourth.
Telford’s night continued to head in the wrong direction as Preston picked up a second yellow card for kicking out at Jefferson Louis, while Sandell was left looking a bit sheepish after heading past his own goalkeeper 12 minutes from time.
