
The Brewery was awarded a Silver for its Hoptwister beer in the Best Bitter category and a Bronze for Shropshire Gold in the Bitters category.
Brewer Kevin Harris said “It is a great achievement to pick up 2 awards at such a prestigious competition, and for Shropshire Gold to pick up a top award for the second year in a row shows the great quality and consistency of our beers.
Special mention should go to all the staff for their hard work and commitment to producing great beers.â€
Shropshire Gold was also recently named as one of the top Foods within the UK.
The list was drawn up as part of the Guild of Fine Food’s annual Great Taste accreditation scheme, which saw 8,807 food and drink products blind-tasted and whittled down over the course of 45 days by 350 experts.
Salopian Brewery has been brewing in Shrewsbury since 1995 and has steadily grown to be one of the largest breweries in Shropshire. The brewery has received a plethora of awards over the past couple of years including coming in the top three of the Champion Beer of Britain last year.
