The Welsh Bridge will be closed to traffic from 7pm on Saturday until 6am on Monday morning as a three teams of engineers work in a shift to replace a gas main.
Simon Jones, Shropshire Council’s Cabinet member with responsibility for highways, said:
“National Grid Gas has requested for an emergency closure of the Welsh Bridge in Shrewsbury to repair a leaking gas main. Despite much discussion with the company this will mean that the bridge will need to be closed from 7pm on Saturday 21 July through to 6am on Monday 23 July. 24 hour working will be employed during this period.
